Hoe zit het met Playstation Home?

September vorig jaar schreef ik een kort berichtje over Playstation Home. “Sony’s Virtual World wordt waarschijnlijk pas in de lente van 2008 gelanceerd.” stond er in mijn bericht.

Nou lente is het al lang niet meer en ik heb nog geen “Home” knop zien verschijnen in mijn playstation menu. Hoe staat het er nu dan eigenlijk voor? Ik kwam dit bericht van Ted tegen. Ted is de manager van het officiële “Home forum” van Sony.

Home is a 3D social gaming service for the ever-growing community of PLAYSTATION®3 owners. Set in a beautifully rendered High Definition world, you’ll be able to create a unique avatar and interact with other PS3 users, sharing game experiences and relaxing in your own personal space.

Home is currently in closed beta, which means that it is being tested by a private group of gamers, but the open beta is due to start later this year. In the meantime, make yourself comfy and share your news, thoughts and dreams about Home here in the official forum.

To all current Home beta testers: please ensure that any posts about the following are only created in the private Home beta forum:
1. Current functionality of Home
2. Screenshots taken from the Home beta
3. Bugs, glitches and technical matters

Please dont read anything into the introduction of this forum, we simply felt it was time to give a home to the Home discussions in the run up to Open Beta later this year.

Ze zijn eindelijk dus een stuk verder, in closed beta wel te verstaan. En later dit jaar gaat dit een “open beta” worden. En dat is goed nieuws, want dat betekend dat ik in deze koude wintermaanden eindelijk de gelegenheid is krijg om Playstation Home te gaan bewonderen.
