Sommige ontwikkelaars ruiken succes op de Nintendo DSi

De Nintendo DSi is onlangs gelanceerd, en er zijn al signalen op te pikken van ontwikkelaars die zich hierop gaan storten. Onder andere Gameloft heeft laten weten dat ze veel potentieel zien in de nieuwe telg van Nintendo, en dan met name in de download service DSiWare. Er zit wel een “maar” aan, zoals je kunt lezen in onderstaande statements die gepubliceerd staan op CasualGaming.biz.

“You have to know that there is some area that Nintendo is going to cover, especially with their own IP, and it’s going to be hard to compete with these IPs,” Gameloft’s Gonzague de Vallois stated at GDC, according to PocketGamer.

“When we think about the platform, that’s where they are strong, with this publishing. I don’t want to compete with these key assets.

“This is the same on every console; we take that into account. But the DSi is mass-market, it’s digital distribution, it fits with our expertise. Nintendo is playing really fair.”

Gameloft is van plan om de iPhone titel “Real Sports Soccer” op de DSi uit te gaan brengen, en daarna wellicht een rock star mangement game voor vrouwen. Welke gebruik gaat maken van de ingebouwde camera.

Ik ben benieuwd wanneer we een eerste advergame kunnen verwachten op de DSi.
